Bragging Alot: Prepare to be Amazed, P-roc's Mom

L. does this on her own: I tell her "which letter comes next", and she writes them all by herself!

lazy

We've started BR on "solid food", meaning rice cereal, of course. He doesn't care too much for it, actually, and we're lucky if we can get him to eat a few spoonfuls. I think it's just too much effort for him. He loves being a participant at the breakfast table, however, and "talks" to his sisters.

Speaking of being"lazy", I haven't gotten to the computer much recently, what with all the fun, eyeball-poking and hair-pulling. Oh wait, my kids don't do that. Of course I mean snuggling, cuddling and hugging.
I do have one cute story from A. (who LOVES bathtime and begs for multiple baths throughout her day --- "it's morning? Bath!" "it's naptime: Bath please!" "What, dinner? No way, I'm going to throw myself into the tub!").
There she was, very studiously paging through an issue of National Geographic and enjoying the pictures of wildlife and plantlife (thank you, Alan & Beth for the subscription). Then, excited, she holds up a page for me to see a photo of a man with no shirt: "BATH!!" And, wait--there are pages and pages of pictures of people all ready to take a bath! This magazine is Awesome!

strength training

ready....

set...

go?

savin' lives

A few times a month, Daddy leaves the ER to do some shifts "in the field", via helicopter. Here are some of the views from up there. They will go as far as 100 miles at times; note the contrasts in the landscape.

she speaks!

A. has decided to start talking! I mean, beyond just 'this' and 'what is this?' ("ziss" and "wazziz"). All of a sudden, she has over 40 words, and mimics us and her big sister throughout the day. Here are some sample conversations:

A.: "Oooh...dress."
Us: "Isn't that dress so pretty? Put it on, honey."
A.: "Uck!" (=stuck)

---------------------------

A: Noise? Ah: ruck! (translation: "What's that noise? Oh, a truck!")

----------------------------

See!? Real communication, at last.

Of course it is inevitable that as she learns to fight for her place in the world (and there are many opportunities to take a stand as long as Big Sister is around), we see her sweet disposition taking, well...shall we say, more frequent vacations. For instance, while just a few ago, she would exclaim, "Wow, pahk!" when she caught sight of a playground, it has now been replaced with, "MINE!"

Watch out unsuspecting kids in the sandbox, this one gets plenty of practice at home...

Giggles

a job well done

L. has been effusive with her praise lately:

"What a nice picture you are drawing, Mommy!"
"Good girl, Mommy!"
"Oh, what a good job you're doing with the stickers!"
and, tonight, during 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes': "Good job singing, Mommy!"

things we love

Here's a little of what we've been up to over the last week or so. Mom finally replaced the batteries in the camera and can now show off our new tricks:

dressing up in our wrestling gear (i mean bathing suits)
and taking turns holding the Bebe.

i'm a big kid!

sleep training complete:

fun at home

L. learned how to draw happy faces, sad faces, faces with hair, and--her favorite--bearded faces (sorry Kit, maybe next time).
