fall leaves
we went to Colorado for a week and hung out with
Aunt Kay & Uncle Dave, some of Mom's cousins,
grandpa Tom and... rockin' cousin P-Roc! He and his mom
surprised us, catching a last-minute flight to Denver for
the weekend. We're pretty sure he and L. thought they
had found heaven in the Landons' backyard.
Top 10 reasons why L. can't fall asleep at night, in her own words
- "I need some water."
- "I need some more water."
- "I can't find my blankie."
- "Those clothes are on the rocking chair."
- "I need to see Jupiter with Daddy."
- "B.R. is sleeping."
- "A. is sleeping."
- "I have an idea."
- "I have a nother nidea."
- "There are too many boogers in my nose."

when i grow up i want to be like BR
A. is very affectionate towards Baby Brother. She loves to get down on the floor and play on her tummy and gurgle with BR. It's so sweet, but umm, shouldn't this be the other way around!?!

A-ok
As L. says, "The fires are burning all those houses down."
To all those who have inquired about our welfare in recent days: we are doing fine, and are far from the areas threatened by the fire.
There are shelters set up around the city, and Jeremy is working the night shift at the one at the stadium. But for now we have not changed our plans to attend the cuzzants reunion in Colorado. See you there, Grandpa!

The Disneyland
Grandpa and Grandma D. came for the weekend and took the kids to "a disney land", as L. calls it. We were there all day on Sunday and even though the lines were sometimes long, L. was a trooper and managed to go on about a dozen rides, plus saw she mickey up close. Other highlights of the day included the parade (not least of which the gigantic "rhino-noceros"), the Winnie the Pooh ride (for A., it was the "balloonoons" was the real selling point for that one) and seeing the Real TinkerBell. BR was a sport and seemed to enjoy every minute, between little naps in the stroller.
