L. and I have long conversations about the various origins of things. A. chimes in from time to time, but sometimes we think she's not been following what we're saying...
L.: which farm animal lays eggs?
Me: is it cows?
L.: no...
Me: is it roosters?
L.: yes!
Me: umm, no...
A.: where's the restaurant!
-----------------------------------------------------
L: which animal grows raisins?
Me: umm, well, actually...
A: look at my belly! I can squish it!

once upon a time...
A. likes to tell stories. Well, story.
"Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in a carseat."
(They tend to end abruptly.)

finale
Mer's friend Molly took these of the girls' absolute favorite part about vacation: the tire swing! They keep begging for me to take them back to see Aunt Mer.

So, by mistake we ended up in San Francisco on the day the Olympic torch was in town. So we joined in the festivities. Free Tibet.
conquering our fears
yes, that is a trapeze that you jump for after climbing up that telephone pole. Jeremy made it. I did not and I was happy just to come right back down again, thank you. BR gets the prize for the biggest wimp of the day, though... "But I can't even walk yet!" What kind of an excuse is that?! (photography credit goes to L. for that middle shot.)

sights
In Pacific Grove we met up with Gaga and Great-Grandpa. We had picnics, played in the park, visited the Monterey Aquarium, went to Fairytale Land (in Sacramento), saw some sea otters, even swam in a pool (brr), tried to get a glimpse of Schwarzenegger in his office (failed), saw Yosemite. And not a single drop of rain the whole time!

ooh, pick me, pick me!
A. always knows the right answer to my questions. According to her, there are only two to pick from. Tonight I ended a make-believe story about a mysterious person with an invitation for them to guess who I was talking about.
Me: "...and that person's name was...?"
A.: "L.!"
Me: "No..."
A.: "Jesus!"
